Recently, a tragic accident occurred on Wednesday morning in which a total of five people died, including Ajit Pawar, two security personnel, and two crew members. According to reports, the incident took place at around 8:45 am on 28 January 2026 at Baramati Airport in Pune district of Maharashtra. The aircraft, a Learjet 45 (registration VT-SSK) operated by VSR Ventures, took off from Mumbai at 8:10 am and made its first unsuccessful landing attempt at around 8:30 am due to poor visibility.
During the second attempt to land the plane at 8:42 am, the plane reportedly became unstable, veered off the runway, and exploded on impact. According to eyewitnesses, the plane veered to one side before hitting the ground, followed by four or five explosions. Five people were killed in the accident near Ajay Pawar’s hometown, located in Baramati.

He served as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra six times under multiple administrations, including Prithviraj Chavan, Uddhav Thackeray, Eknath Shinde, and Devendra Fadnavis.
