Security arrangements of the Delhi Metro have been increased due to the occasion of Republic Day. Delhi Metro recently shared a post on X (social media platform) and a video has also shared, in which it has been announced that the entry and exit gates of some specific metro stations of Delhi Metro will remain temporarily closed from 3:00 am on January 23 and 26, 2026, till the conclusion of the event. These stations are Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate & ITO. Although other metro trains will continue to run across the network, specific gates at the following stations will be closed for entry and exit from 3:00 am on January 23 and 26 until the celebrations end (usually around noon).

Republic Day Security: Metro Station Parking Restrictions
Mandatory measures have been taken by security agencies to prevent any unauthorised vehicle from being parked near the Metro premises during the national event as per standard annual security protocols, there will be a closure of the parking at all Delhi Metro stations will be strictly closed from 6:00 AM on January 25 until 2:00 PM on January 26. These measures are being taken to control the huge crowd at Kartavya Path, India Gate, and the Red Fort. The affected stations are located directly on or near the parade route (from Vijay Chowk to Red Fort), making them high-security zones. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a post on X in this regard and advised passengers to plan their journey accordingly.

According to the advisory, it has advised passengers to plan their travel time due to strict security checks that will be conducted at all stations till January 27, and have patience. It includes stricter passenger and baggage checks, as well as increased deployment of security personnel at entry and exit points.
